Theodore Binghamshyer
Theodore Binghamshyer is the bastard child of a formally respected congressman from new Hampshire and a beautiful Texan, with long brown hair and dreamy eyes. Lightly bronzed complexion on a body made for sinning. Theodore grew up as a blue blood, attending private schools, and vacationing in exotic locals. As far as he knew he was the grandson of an oil man who had secured the Binghamshyer legacy for years to come. The truth is his mother is also fatherless raised in Calien by her mother, who happened to be a receptionist at an oil company. She met the congressman at a fundraiser for her local representative At the time she was a twenty-two year old college student about to graduate with a degree in art. She was pregnant at the time of her graduation. She moved to new Hampshire, birthed there son, and became a museum curator. The affair continued all through Teddy’s adolescence He nor any one else for that matter knew that congressman from new Hampshire was his father, and that he was footing the bill for the private school, the condo, the lavish vacations. That was until the congressman introduced legislation that would ban the sale of modifiable hand guns and rifles There were a few sections of the population that did not appreciate this bill. Including but not exclusive to gun manufactures, the NRA, every gun club in America, and a handful of legislators on both side of the isle (paying for their reelection campaign). As the bill was gaining its sea legs the congressman was unaware of the smear campaign coming his way. First a blogger wrote about an unnamed congressman with a secret family. Then came the op-ed pieces in all the major newspapers about the need for honesty and integrity standers amongst are elected officials CNN had it first, breaking news, Micheal Simpson Republican New Hampshire has been supporting his mistress and their son for fifteen years. The story made every nightly news, newspaper, and web site possible. What turned Theodore life up side down was the report that named names. Instead of simply call her his mistress. the new york times put it in black and white “ …Congressman Simpsons mistress, Lacy Binghamshyer …”. That transformed him from the grandson of an oil tycoon to the bastard son of a married congressman. Mr. Simpson did his best political two step. He backed off his bill, made appearances with his wife, and broke all ties with his mistress and “her” son. Miss Binghamshyer is no dummy. When the story broke she waited for the wolfs. Like the sunrise they were right on time, verifying there information and offering top dollar for an exclusive interview. She granted a few netted almost two million and inked a book deal. Theodore was hurt that his father, dad, sperm donor, could disown him when the truth got out. He found comfort in his mother handled this ordeal with the emotional detachment of a Buddhist When the circus moved on to a fresher story the Binghamshyer’s moved to California They settled in Pacifica a place that hangs on the south west edge of San Francisco The neighbor hood was nice, ocean views, a laid back vibe, a public transit ride from one of the greatest cities in this hemisphere But its not colonial houses, tree lined streets, and snowy winters. The more he thought about the only place he called home the angrier he got. His whole life had been a lie until a few months ago. He was angry with his mom for not telling him the truth. When he confronted her about it she apologized and explained that the complexities of the situation were to much a burden for a child to bear. He understood her reasoning, and directed his anger toward his sperm donor His mother would not allow it . The congressman form new Hampshire had been there provider and gave them a lifestyle far better than one they would have had if she stayed in Texas and raised young Theodore She told him to embrace the positive and move on, “ your a world traveler, fluent in Italian, with connections to every lucrative business in America People work a lifetime to build a resume like that”. A few more curses at his former life, and the father that wasn’t and went about his business. Teddy’s style would have been stylish for a collage sophomore, for a high school one, it could be the catalyst for an abundance for much ridicule. Topsiders, chinos, and cashmere sweaters stand out amongst the jordans, ed hardys and hoodies. All his academic life he had been a front row student with all the answers, partly because he was a little brighter, partly because it was encouraged. In this new environment he would proceed with caution, sit in the back with the misfits and see how they do things in California.
